Shaft Seals - Radial Lip Seals for Rotary Systems

A V-seal is an all-rubber axial seal that mounts directly onto the shaft and uses an extended flexible lip to seal against a face surface. Unlike standard radial lip seals that seal against the shaft circumference, V-seals provide superior tolerance for shaft eccentricity and misalignment, making them ideal for dynamic or imprecise shaft conditions and dry-running applications.

DSC offers radial lip seals and V-seals in NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) for general-purpose oil and fuel resistance, and FKM/Viton for high-temperature and chemically aggressive environments. NBR suits standard operating conditions, while FKM is preferred for oil & gas or high-temperature applications up to 125°C and beyond with specialty compounds.
